Love Your Library Tour: CEO Seeks Community Feedback
Indianapolis residents are invited to meet Indianapolis Public Library CEO Jackie Nytes during the 2021 “Love Your Library Tour.” Nytes will spend time at every branch during the month of May to chat with visitors, allowing community members a chance to share what they love about Indy Libraries and how the Library can better serve their needs.
Attendees will learn about programs and initiatives, including new branch locations, the new late fine free policy, the Digital Encyclopedia of Indianapolis, and youth and adult programming such as the upcoming Summer Reading Program. Nytes says patron input is crucial to shaping the Library's future.
“We are coming out of what may be one of the most challenging years in recent memory, and it's important that we continue to align ourselves with the needs of the community,” said Nytes. “We hope people stop by for a casual chat and grab a book or movie while they are here.”
In addition, Nytes hopes to share The Library’s updated organizational values and strategic priorities that are part of its 2021-2023 Strategic Plan. Attendees can pick up a copy of the 2021-2023 Strategic Plan at their nearest branch location or find it online.
While these events have traditionally been set up as community meetings, this year they will be more informal, with Nytes available for drop-in conversations. A list of tour dates and locations can be found below and on our blog.
