Stream a wide variety of music directly to your computer or mobile device with your IndyPL Library card. Our music streaming platform is called Hoopla. Top 40, Gospel, Blues, Latin, Hip Hop, Rap - whatever music genre you are looking for, you can find it on Hoopla!

Need help? Ask a Library staff member at any of our locations or call, text or email Ask-a-Librarian. The Tinker Station helpline at (317) 275-4500 is also available. It is staffed by device experts who can answer questions about how to read, watch, and listen on a PC, tablet or phone.

How to Use Hoopla

You can borrow from Hoopla without being on a waiting list or leaving home! You can borrow 10 Items each month. Each album is then available to listen to for 7 days. If you have never borrowed from Hoopla before directions are available as well as a video tutorial.

If you are listening to Hoopla music on a PC or Mac you can only stream it, so you'll need an internet connection to listen. Streaming music can consume a lot of data, so we recommend streaming Hoopla over a Wi-Fi connection.

If you are listening to Hoopla music on the Hoopla app on a supported device, you can download it when you have a connection and then enjoy it offline later.

Discover online borrowing with e-books, e-magazines, streaming music and videos, or on-demand learning. All available for free with your library card through services such as Hoopla, Libby, LinkedIn Learning, and Kanopy. Each title from this list connects you to a way to borrow items online. Click Download & Stream in the catalog menu to learn more about these platforms.

The New Yorker

Instantly access over 3,000 magazines with the Libby App such as The New Yorker. There are e-magazine titles to match every interest on topics from health, cooking, technology, and fashion. Download the Libby App to your phone or tablet to read on the go or browse on a computer. Look for Online Magazines or search directly inside the app to find more titles. Didn't find the magazine you want? Try checking the Flipster app for more titles.

Last of the Summer Wine

Stream movies, documentaries, and TV Shows with Kanopy, like the Classic BBC show Last of the Summer Wine. Your card allows you to borrow 10 titles a month from Kanopy. This platform has a fantastic selection of award-winning films from around the globe as well as newer, independent titles, and family-friendly classics.

Stream full albums with Hoopla including recent releases from top artists such as Kendrick Lamar. You can borrow 10 titles a month from Hoopla - and with music albums, movies, comics, and more to choose from every month you'll find something great to borrow. Try the Hoopla app on your phone or tablet, or the Hoopla website, Chromecast to your SmartTV, or use Hoopla's app for the Roku, Apple TV, or FireTV.
